LunaSea is operated by Jennifer Savran.

While studying bookbinding and restoration, letterpress printing, and paper-making at the Center for Book Arts in New York City, I dreamed of starting a bindery and small press.

After a year of interning with Brooke Tinney, owner of Dweller by the Stream Bindery in Brooklyn, New York, and several years of working at the Metropolitan Museum of Art as a book conservation associate, I left New York City for Ithaca. Shortly after arriving in 2001, I launched LunaSea.

Since coming to Ithaca, I have also held the Kahn Family Fellowship at the Ink Shop Printmaking Center/Olive Branch Press (2002-2003) and have served as a guest lecturer in Cornell's art department on several occasions.

In addition to binding and publishing handmade books, I also teach bookbinding workshops at the Ink Shop and Center for Book Arts and offer private instruction.
