The mission of LunaSea Press is to publish limited edition, hand-bound books that focus on women's issues, and to donate proceeds to organizations that assist women in need.

We celebrated the inception of the press with our premier book Hysteria, a collection of poetry, prose, essays, and visual art -- by over thirty artists -- that responds to current statistics about women's mental health. Copies are available from LunaSea Press, and they can also be found in the special collections of Duke, Yale, and Syracuse Universities, as well as others. To learn more, you can download the prospectus (on the right-hand side).

Now that the press is off the ground, we're looking forward to publishing our second book, Red Ink. Currently in the early production stages, Red Ink will be an exciting multi-media project -- combining the art of the book with the moving image -- co-produced by LunaSea Press and Christopher Julian Designworks.

Red Ink began as a short film (approximately 30 minutes) co-written by Christopher Julian and me, and directed and produced by Julian. The story revolves around Anna Brin, who shelters herself behind quirky habits and a deep-seated faith in fortune cookies. The fortunes she receives slowly begin to turn ominous as she starts to uncover family secrets that threaten her carefully constructed reality.

The book will be an artistic interpretation of the film, and a CD or DVD of the film will be packaged with it. More information, as well as the projected date of publication, will be announced as soon as possible.
